ISRO and it's Future: A Timeline based Approach to it.

ISRO, the Space program India initiated, when it was still quite young as a free nation, and had still much to learn, but even then The Indian Government had little to do with the organization, until their innovations began helping the country so much, that we now have a former ISRO Director as a former President as well.

Yes, there have been their dark times, The country, as well as the world, did not stand by them when they lost, mockery was full-on, and that fortunately only helped, to make a long story short, Yes We have our failures, but the wins, in comparison are of no match,

Here, I put up a list of advancements by ISRO in the past 10 years.:
  • The SLV was launched under the guidance of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
  • In 2008, First Moon Mission with Chandrayaan.
  • Three bacteria species that have a high resistance to the UV-rays were found in the earth’s upper stratosphere, in 2009.
  • In the year 2012, launched its 100th space mission and used the PSLV-C21 rocket which placed two satellites in the Earth’s orbit.
  • MOM: Successfully launched Mars Orbiter Mission also known as MOM using PSLV-XL In 2013 and it was one of the biggest achievements.
  • Reaching Mars: In 2014, India was able to reach Mars successfully at its very first attempt. Notably, only three other space organizations have been able to achieve this. They are NASA, the European Space Program, and the Soviet Space Program.
  • GSLV MK3: Launched GSLV MK3 in 2014 which is a crew capsule that can take human beings to space.
  • Launching 104 Satellites Together: Achieved this record with the help of six other nations using the PS: V-C37 in 2017.
  • GSLV-F09: Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark-II made use of Cryogenic Upper Stage

Now that's off the grid, let's focus on the future.......

What is the sole problem?

We need to know that as of now, ISRO has the world's finest thinkers who know what has to be done, can be done and will be done. It's all planned out quite well, we have Chandrayaan 3 and Aditya lined up, as well as India's first homegrown journey to space is also scheduled, so direction and idea are not the problems, we seem to be most certainly headed in the right direction. And what's even better is, that our nature of living and our problem ( which I am about to discuss are correlated in such a way, that this problem of ours, might make things easier.

Our Sole Problem is: Finances (Money)

Yes, We were able to reach mars at the cheapest and for the first time, all well and good, but can you imagine what would have been possible if the budget of the film had been given?

The Thing is, We have it in our nature to save money, so even if you give us so much more, we will only take what we truly need and the rest is kept safe, for later....... (or emergencies if you are Indian as well as Middle class.)

So, if our finances get increased just a bit, we might as well be able to do things which we can't imagine right now, A Indian Space Station? Definitely. A Moon Base? Will take time, but yes! Mars Base??? Ok now we are thinking too ahead, but yeah that might just be it too.....

What I propose herein is a timeline of how things can go, and what can be achieved in a phased manner from 2024, Right till 2040. ( Please keep an Average +/- of 5 years, as Indians we do take time for that sweet perfection.)

Phase-1 (2024)

COVID 19 has shaken us all to pieces, in the near future, this will be a priority, if a vaccine is discovered, what if we can discover an antidote that spreads the same way as a virus? If that's possible, how do we spread it as fast as possible? Maybe Rockets can do it, Just saying, if we launch the antidote the same way through a low satellite, we might be able to cover the whole world as fast as possible, Reaching the most difficult parts too.

In the future programs, we would need money, Now this is where things get political, but I guess we should be happy as the whole thing has already begun. How do we get the Money? Simple, We save it by investing. Where to invest? in Power. How? OSOWOG's the answer, and ISRO can benefit from it, as well as help in its installation. OSOWOG stands for One Sun One World One Grid and it tries to shift India from a Petrol Solution of Power to a Solar Solution of Power, wherein we as a nation are consumers of solar energy only, and nothing else, as well as suppliers of the same to the World. This has already been initiated in 2018 and tries to get it done by 2024.

According to the draft plan prepared by the MNRE, the ambitious OSOWOG will connect 140 countries through a common grid that will be used to transfer solar power. “The vision behind the OSOWOG mantra is “the Sun never sets” and is a constant at some geographical location, globally, at any given point of time. With India at the fulcrum, the solar spectrum can easily be divided into two broad zones viz. far East which would include countries like Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Lao, Cambodia and far West which would cover the Middle East and the Africa Region,” MNRE said in the terms of reference in the RfP published to hire consultants for OSOWOG.

That, if done on time and is invested upon will reap so many benefits, that in no time, India will be saving so much...... to invest in education, healthcare, and yes, Space.

That's Phase 1 guys...... All that might as well be possible and might be a new normal, by the time 2024 rolls out.

Phase-2 (2025-2035)- Prediction Based but Possible

After 2024, The plan of OSOWOG can be extended through its space leg, that is, we can try for a space station. From the money our economy saves from Energy Production, By 2027-89 or 2029 we can be ready for a space station, Kartikeya, The only problem is of finances, that holds up to the hefty costs of construction if to be made since this too will run on solar power. We may even require foreign help, but then that should only be our last resort. Now if our Man in the Space Mission succeeds, the next steps should be a man on the moon, and then this, it is ideal.

And the other thing that can and must be done in this phase must be a Moon Base! Now it might seem a little far fetched and one might argue that no one has done it yet, or even thought maybe about it, but that's what scientists are here for right? and if we think of the prospects. this might help in the long term maintenance of our space station..... they can work in correlation in between themselves, and since we see a that even our failed missions are 98% success i think this should be something we can predict, for our Phase-2.

Something other things that have been done in regards to this, and might help in the moon prospect are here.

Well, one more thing that should be handled in between is that the Organisations at the center should not be the legislative government but an actual board consisting of majorly people from BARC, DRDO, ISRO, HAL. so that they pool everything they have together for everything good. We can have a legislature council over the committee for if anyone or anything goes sideways, but that should be it.

Phase-3 (2035-2040) and beyond

This phase is purely hypothetical, and may not be possible to achieve at all, but then we look 15 years into the future here and take it from me, there were no smartphones in 2005.

Let's talk traveling in Space, Together

We as a Nation can then focus on the ambitious parts of life like Space Travel, without leaving Earth, with the help of Stellar Engine.
Sounds idiotic? Sure does, and I can't imagine explaining it right now, so I will put up a link down below to check it out,
Look a Stellar Engine is not something which India can build on its own, it's something which the world needs to look forward to, join hand in hand and together pooling in all our resources build it, for our collective future.
All I'm saying is that Ideally (Ideally as in Physics) ISRO should lead this change, this transformation, and maybe be a stepping stone to India becoming a Global Super Power.

And that's The End of my Blog.

Thanks, everyone for reading it, Point out the cons and the pros, what you liked and what you did not, down below. This has taken a long time, and guess its a bit longer than usual too.
and I'll post the links to videos explaining the moon base as well the Dyson Sphere for anyone interested.
